Effective date: 29 September 2026
1. Agreement and provider
These Terms form an agreement between you and [legal name], [postal address] (“Studee”, “we”, or “us”). By creating an account, buying a subscription, or using the Studee macOS app or website, you accept these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Studee.
2. What Studee provides
Studee helps you capture and search study questions, run timed practice tests, check typed answers, compare community difficulty, review progress, and generate practice selections using AI. Features may change as the service develops. Studee is a learning aid, not a teacher, examination authority, or guarantee of any academic result.
3. Accounts
You must provide accurate information, protect your credentials, and promptly tell us about suspected unauthorised access. You are responsible for activity under your account. If you are not legally able to enter this agreement or purchase a subscription on your own, a parent or guardian must approve.
4. Subscription and billing
Studee Pro costs US$5 per month unless a different price is clearly shown at checkout. Stripe processes payment. Your subscription renews automatically each month until cancelled. You can cancel through the billing portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period, and access continues until then.
Charges are generally non-refundable except where required by law or expressly stated otherwise. Taxes may be added where required. If the price changes, reasonable advance notice will be provided and any consent required by law will be obtained.
5. Acceptable use
You may use Studee for personal study and other lawful educational purposes. You must not:
- upload content you do not have the right to use;
- submit sensitive personal data that is unnecessary for study;
- abuse, overload, scrape, probe, reverse engineer, bypass access controls, or interfere with the service;
- share an account in a way that defeats subscription limits;
- use Studee or AI output for unlawful, harmful, deceptive, or rights-infringing activity.
6. Your content
You keep ownership of content you add. When you submit a new question, you give Studee permission to process it for safety and organisation and, if approved, to store and show that question to other Studee subscribers as part of the shared question bank. Your account identity, personal notes, and typed answers are not shown with the question. De-identified aggregate timing, correctness, and difficulty statistics may be shown. You confirm that you have the rights required to submit the question and that it contains no unnecessary personal information.
7. AI features
AI-generated safety decisions, labels, matching, summaries, and practice selections may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable. Uploads classified as unsafe are rejected and create a private account strike; repeated unsafe uploads can disable further contributions. Contact [support email] to challenge a moderation decision. Check important output yourself. Do not rely on Studee as the sole basis for exam, academic-integrity, health, legal, financial, or safety-critical decisions.
8. Licence and intellectual property
Studee grants you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the app in accordance with these Terms. The app, brand, design, and software remain owned by Studee and its licensors. No rights are granted except those stated here.
9. Availability and changes
We aim to keep Studee available but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Maintenance, provider outages, security events, or product changes may temporarily limit features. We may update the app or require an update for security or compatibility.
10. Suspension and termination
You may stop using Studee and cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary for security, non-payment, serious or repeated breach, legal compliance, or protection of other users. Where practical, we will give notice and a chance to fix the issue.
11. Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by law, Studee is provided “as is” and “as available”, without implied guarantees beyond mandatory consumer rights. We do not warrant particular learning outcomes, perfect AI accuracy, or compatibility with every device or third-party service.
12. Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded. Otherwise, to the maximum extent permitted by law, Studee is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost opportunities, lost profits, or loss caused by inaccurate AI output, third-party services, or failure to maintain your own backups. Studee’s aggregate liability connected with the paid service is limited to the amount you paid for Studee during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by Swiss law, without limiting mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live. Courts at the operator’s Swiss domicile have jurisdiction, unless mandatory law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
14. Changes and contact
We may update these Terms for legal, security, or product reasons. Material changes will be announced reasonably in advance where required. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms. Questions should be sent to [support email].
